Proceedings of the Balzan Prizewinners' Interdisciplinary Forum 2014 (englisch)
After opening speeches by the President of the Joint Commission Balzan-Lincei-Swiss Academies Alberto Quadrio Curzio, and by the Chairman of the Balzan General Prize Committee, Salvatore Veca, the 2014 Balzan Prizewinners were presented by members of the General Prize Committee. The Prizewinners then gave brief summaries of their careers and the work that won them the Prize:.

The Forum was introduced by keynote speaker Günter Stock, President of ALLEA (All European Academies: the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities). The talk of Ian Hacking, who was not able to be present, was given by Martin Pickavé of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto. The talks by Prof. Pickavé and the 2014 Prizewinners Dennis Sullivan, David Tilman and Mario Torelli were followed by comments by panel members and questions from the audience, with the President of the International Balzan Foundation “Prize” Enrico Decleva acting as coordinator.

The Forum and the proceedings are a result of the
Agreements of collaboration signed by the International Balzan Foundation “Prize” with the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences and the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei to spread knowledge of studies of international breadth in the sciences and the humanities.
