Balzan Prizes 2023 to be announced on 11 September in Milan

The Prize for Humanity, Peace and Fraternity Among Peoples will also be awarded

The Prizewinners of the four Balzan Prizes 2023 for
■ World Literature
■ Evolution of Humankind: Paleoanthropology
■ Evolution of Humankind: Ancient DNA and Human Evolution
■ High resolution images: from planetary to cosmic objects

will be officially announced in Milan next 11 September 2023, Monday, at the Fondazione Corriere della Sera at 6 pm.

After an opening speech by the Chairman of the Balzan Foundation “Prize”, Alberto Quadrio Curzio, the Chairman of the General Prize Committee, Luciano Maiani, will announce the winners and read the citations, while the four Prizewinners will be presented by other members of the Committee.

In conclusion the winner of the
Prize for Humanity, Peace and Fraternity Among People
will be announced.

The amount of each of the five Balzan Prizes will be 750,000 Swiss Francs.

Immediately after the announcement, Michaël Gillon, 2017 Balzan Prizewinner for The Sun’s Planetary System and Exoplanets, will deliver a lecture entitled «Searching for Earth-like Worlds around nearby very-low-mass stars».

The event will be live-streamed on www.balzan.org.
