Another Round Table with Rosalyn Higgins in Lugano - USI
The International Balzan Foundation and USI (Università della Svizzera italiana) have organized Today’s Geo-political Crises and International Law - Responsibilities of the UN, a meeting with Rosalyn Higgins, 2007 Balzan Prize for International Law after 1945, in Lugano on 30 May, following the round table in Milan on 29 May.
Participants will include Philippa Webb, Dapo Akande and Sandesh Sivakumaran, the researchers who, under the direction of Rosalyn Higgins, edited Oppenheim’s International Law - United Nations, fruit of the Balzan research project carried out with the second half of Higgins's Prize. The volume will also be discussed.
Ilaria Espa (USI, Istituto di diritto - IDUSI) and Thomas Cottier (Universities of Bern and Ottawa) will also participate, with Fausto Pocar, President of the International Institute of Humanitarian Law as moderator.
Enrico Decleva (President of the Balzan Foundation) and Boas Erez (Rector of USI) will introduce the event.
