Jerome Seymour Bruner 1915 - 2016
The International Balzan Foundation joins others across the globe in mourning the death of Jerome Seymour Bruner, Balzan Prizewinner 1987 for Human Psychology.
Bruner, who died on 5 June, at the age of 100, was a pioneer of Cognitive and Educational Psychology, He was awarded the Prize with this motivation: For his research embracing all of the most important problems of human psychology, in each of which he has made substantial and original contributions of theoretical as well as practical value for the development of the psychological faculties of man.
