Round Table with Rosalyn Higgins in Milan - ISPI
Rosalyn Higgins, 2007 Balzan Prize for International Law after 1945 and former President of the International Court of Justice at The Hague will be present in Milan on 29 May (ISPI , via Clerici 5 - 6:00 pm) for a round table on the theme of international Law, "Peacekeeping and Fundamental Rights - Responsibilities of the UN", organized by the Balzan Foundation together with ISPI (Istituto per gli Studi di Politica internazionale).
Participants in the round table will include Philippa Webb, Dapo Akande and Sandesh Sivakumaran, the researchers who, under the direction of Rosalyn Higgins, edited Oppenheim’s International Law - United Nations (Oxford University Press, 2017), fruit of the Balzan research project carried out with the second half of Higgins's Prize. The treatise will also be discussed.
At the meeting, Sergio Romano (Historian, Diplomat and former President of the Balzan General Prize Committee) and Marco Pedrazzi (University of Milan and ISPI), will also be present. The moderator of the round table will be Fausto Pocar, President of the International Institute of Humanitarian Law and former President of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. Enrico Decleva (President of the Balzan Foundation) will introduce the event.
